Lips are the most luscious and sexy part of our face. All of us love to wear the lipsticks to get that extra attention. But, most of the times, lipsticks don’t appear as flattering on our lips as seen on the tube. The money invested on a creamy, hydrating formula doesn’t turn out to be comfortable, and the finish leaves much to be desired! Yes, it is true that investing in a good lipstick alone will not provide us with good results. The formula should create a harmony with the lips to bring the right finish! Today, I have created a basic lip tutorial, which will help you to offer a flawless and even lipstick finish to your lips.

• Lip scrub
• Lip balm
• Concealer
• Red ip liner
• Red lipstick or lip gloss
• Compact

Flawless Lips Makeup Tutorial:

These are the simple steps, but if followed correctly, will give your lips that perfect finish.

Step 1:

Apply your favorite lip scrub to remove the dry flakes and smoothen out rough chapped skin on the delicate lip area. Scrubbing your lips improves blood circulation, rejuvenates your lips and creates a smooth base for your lipstick. If you don’t wish to invest in lip scrubs, then a simple homemade lip scrub of sugar and honey will work equally well to remove the dry flakes from your lips. Then, apply your favorite lip balm to moisturize your lips. Moisturizing your lips prior to lip makeup is a must. It helps to create an even and neat finish for the lipstick.

Step 2:

Now apply a thin layer of foundation and set it with compact to create a flawless makeup base. If you have hyper pigmentation around the mouth area, use a darker concealer to conceal your imperfections. It will make your lips stand out.

Step 3:

Pick a matte lip liner matching your lipstick color. Here, I planned to use a gorgeous bright red color lipstick, so I picked a matte red lip liner. Then, start applying the lip liner at the highest peak of your cupid’s bow and slowly fill your entire lip area. Outline and fill your lips with a lip liner prior to the application of the lipstick. It will help to increase the longevity of the lipsticks irrespective of the formula or quality. For a neat and precise finish, be in the smiling pose while applying your lip liner. It will stretch your lips and help the liner reach the creases of your lips! Use the lip pencil and create a neat thin line at the outer perimeter of your lips. Create smaller strokes and then connect it together if you don’t have a steady hand in drawing lines.

Step 4:

Now use the lip pencil to create a sharp cupid bow. Draw a diagonal line downwards on the left and right peak of your cupid’s bow. A perfect cupid bow shape will look like a “X” shape.

Step 5:

Now, if you are using a lipstick, then take the lipstick in a thin lip filler makeup brush. If you are using a lip gloss, then use the lip gloss wand like a brush for precise application. Start filling your lips by following the natural curve shape of your lip. Stretch your lips again by smiling to apply the lipstick for a neat and precise finish.

Step 6:

Now pick up a highlighting concealer or a light color concealer. The light color concealer should be at least 3 shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Start by outlining your entire lip with the concealer using a thin brush. Carefully outline your lips without pulling in the concealer inside your lip area. Then, use your fingers or a sponge and blend the concealer seamlessly for a neat and natural finish. Set it with a compact powder to prevent fading or creasing of the product.
