Hickies or love bites are red blotches that are caused when blood vessels close to the skin surface break and bleed. To get rid of these marks, you have to ease the trapped blood beneath your skin surface. Here are a few easy tips to get rid of those unpleasant hickies.
Wrap a few ice cubes in a paper towel and hold it on the hickey for several minutes. This method can work best when applied soon after receiving the hickey. The cold ice freezes the broken blood vessel and prevents the blood from clotting under the skin.
Use a toothbrush to lightly brush the area around the hickey. This will stimulate circulation and allow the blood to spread around thus preventing excessive clotting which forms red hickey marks.
Apply some minty toothpaste to the hickey and leave it on for a few minutes. It may begin to tingle a bit but it will help increase blood circulation. Gently wipe it off with a towel soaked in warm water. Do not use this method excessively or harshly as it may end up damaging your skin.
Use a pen cap or a lipstick cap or anything that’s cylindrical in shape. Place the cap over the hickey and press it down hard into the skin. You may have to apply some pressure but make sure you don’t hurt yourself. Now twist the cap so that your skin will also twist around it. Twist the cap as much as you can and hold it there for a few seconds before you release it. Repeat this several times for about 10 minutes. This method will help increase blood circulation in that area.
When you don’t have much time to try any of these above mentioned tips, then try these quick hickey hiding tricks.
