DIY – Amazing Cucumber And Oil Face Mask Recipes To Heal Your Skin

Summer take a toll on each one of us. It feels like a burning oven here in north India. I am sure the situation is almost the same all over India. No chemicals can heal the scars given by this hot climate. Ok, I got a bit dramatic. But seriously, summers can really drain us of energy and also our outer beauty. But I believe in the magic of kitchen ingredients to soothe and heal any kind of skin problem.

Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite kitchen recipes, which saves my skin from the heat and woes of the summer months.

So, wear your aprons and let’s get started.

Required Products:

  • Cucumber
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Coconut or any other oil of your choice

Cucumber And Oil-Skin Cooling/Soothing Recipe:

Let’s learn the cucumber and oil-skin cooling/soothing recipe:

Step 1:

Take a medium sized cucumber which is the main ingredient for the recipe. I simply love the sight of cucumbers during summers. It is as soothing to the eyes as it is to the skin.

Cut and peel the cucumber. Grate it finely for the recipe. If you take a chilled cucumber, nothing can be better than that. If not, keep the grated cucumber to chill in the refrigerator for some time.

This is how the finely grated cucumber looks like. The quantity in my bowl is sufficient for the face and neck area. If you wish to pamper your hands and legs as well, grate some more.

Step 2:

Add coconut oil to the grated cucumber. For the given quantity of cucumbers, add 1teaspoonful oil. If you have oily skin, the oil should be kept to a minimum.

Step 3:

Now is the time to add another cooling potion, which is every girl’s favorite ingredient for skin care. You guessed it right— it is aloe vera!
Aloe vera not only gives a soothing sensation to the skin, but also clarifies the skin over time.

Step 4:

And that’s it, folks! Mix these well. Just these 3 ingredients will suck away all the tiredness and dullness from your face after you return home from a hectic day of work.

As you can see, it is a kind of green gel, which is not at all a task to put to use.

Step 5:

Spread it evenly on your face and neck and let it settle for sometime before you wash it off. It could drip down a little, so keep a tissue paper handy to avoid any kind of mess. Wash off after around 5-10 minutes.

What It Does For Your Skin:

If I start to pen down the benefits of homemade stuff, there’ll be no end to this article. I’ll simply narrate the differences I have personally felt while using this soothing recipe:

  • My skin feels light and less tired after a hectic day of work. Any sun burn or tanned skin will get the benefits with this mixture.
  • This mixture clarifies the skin when used regularly for a few days.
  • Puffy eyes and dark circles are now history.
  • Dullness of the skin is also something I no longer worry about. This recipe refreshes my skin, making it look radiant and alive.
