  • Coconut oil
  • Thick cotton wipes or cotton pads
  • Milk
  • Storage jar
  • Spoon
  • Scissors

How To Make Natural Makeup Remover:

Read to know about the steps to make the natural makeup remover:

Step 1:

Take 5 cotton wipes or 10 cotton pads (the quantity totally depends upon your preference). If you take cotton wipes, their size can get slightly big for individual facial features (for example, for makeup removal from the eyes and lips). It is best to cut the bigger cotton wipes into smaller pieces.

Then, place the tissue paper in a clean storage container. The container has to be clean and well-sanitized. Otherwise it might easily lead to bacterial accumulation. Here, I have used a clean plastic container to store the makeup remover.

Step 2:

Add about a tablespoon of milk to the cotton wipes. Milk provides multiple benefits to the skin. It cleanses the skin effectively, reduces the size of the pores, smooths the skin, adds shine and helps in lightening our skin tone.

Step 3:

Then, add about 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
Olive oil has great regenerative properties, well-known to mankind since years. Whether you apply it externally or take it internally, it provides multiple benefits. It stimulates the healing process of your skin. What can be better than healing the skin after an entire day of layering it with heavy makeup?

Olive oil soothes and heals the skin irritations. The added skin benefit is that olive oil contains rich healthy fats, phenolic antioxidants and Vitamin E with squalene and oleic acids. These properties help you to get rid of free radicals while repairing the damage done to your skin since the time you put on makeup.

Step 4:

Now, add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. We all love coconut oil for its skin, health, hair and beauty care related benefits. No wonder it has been used as a major ingredient in many of our expensive skin care products, such as creams and lotions. It has a high fat content, measuring nearly 90% of saturated fats, which help it to work as an excellent skin moisturizer. The added benefit of using coconut oil is that it contains Vitamin E, which smoothens and calms down the skin.

Step 5:

Now take a clean spoon and gently press down the cotton wipes. The added liquid mixtures should float above the cotton wipes to get absorbed well, so that it works effectively in removing the makeup.

Step 6:

That’s it! You are done. Wasn’t it super simple to make? Hold on! Let’s put it to test to check the efficacy of our natural makeup remover. I applied a long lasting lipstick, water-proof kajal and smudge proof eyeliners to test it.

I then took a piece of cotton wipe from the mixture, and gently rubbed it against all the makeup. All the makeup was completely removed with two wipes! Isn’t that nice? My skin felt soft and moisturized after removing all the makeup.
