1. Wearing Footwear Without Socks:
If you have a habit of wearing sandals or shoes without socks, it is time to change. Socks protect your skin from the rough and firm materials that sandals and shoes are made from, preventing friction and corns.
2. Badly Fitting Shoes:
If your shoes are too tight, they will exert pressure on certain parts of your feet, leading to the development of corns. On the other hand, if your shoes are loose, your feet will move around inside the shoes, causing friction. High heels are a major cause of corns among women, as they exert uneven pressure on the feet.
3. Manual Labor:
If you are the kind of person who uses hand tools or lifts heavy materials regularly, you are at a higher risk of developing corns on your hands due to friction.
4. Participating in Athletic Events:
If you regularly participate in athletic events, you will develop corns due to excessive pressure on certain parts of your feet as well as hands.

There are numerous home remedies for corns and calluses, but it is best to use multiple remedies simultaneously if you want to get rid of it quickly. While using the home remedies, it is advisable to sand the area with a pumice stone to get rid of the hardened skin.
1. Pumice Stone:
As corn is dead skin, it is best to try and remove it by rubbing the affected part of your foot or hand with pumice stone. However, before you do it, soak the area in warm water to soften the skin. This will make it easier to remove it with the pumice stone and not cause any discomfort while sanding.
Your corn can worsen or even get infected if your toes are constantly moist due to perspiration. You can avoid this complication by dabbing cornstarch on your feet, particularly between your toes. It will absorb the moisture and keep your feet dry.
Besides curing headaches, aspirin can also help with your corns. Crush a couple of aspirins and make a thick paste with a few drops of water. Apply the paste on the corn and seal it with a gauze or a bandage. Leave it overnight. Repeat the process every day until the corn disappears. You should see results in about two weeks’ time.
The acidity of lemon is a great home remedy to get rid of corns. Apply a slice of lemon on the corn and secure it with a bandage. Leave it overnight. 5. Castor Oil:
This home remedy has been used for centuries. Apply castor oil on the corn three times a day. The oil helps the corn to harden, making it easier for you to slough off the dead skin using a pumice stone. This method of treating corn is one of the best home remedies for corns in feet and hands, as it is quick. You will notice results in just three to four days.
This tropical fruit can prove to be an effective home remedy for corns on feet. Take a piece of pineapple. Place the pineapple overnight on the corn. Do this every night. Not only will it help to alleviate the pain, but will also hasten the healing. You will notice the corn disappearing in a week or so.
7. Baking Soda and Lime:
Mix equal quantities of baking soda, lime juice, and water. Make a paste and apply it on the corn. Leave it overnight. Do this every night for five to seven days. If using on the toes, place cotton balls between your toes to keep them separated.

If you find it difficult to apply papaya, you can also dab fresh papaya juice on the corn with same results.
The humble chalk that kids use on blackboards can prove to be an effective remedy for corns on feet. Crush chalk into a fine powder and make a thick paste using some water. Apply the paste on the corn. Not only will it help the pain, it will also cause the corn to gradually disappear.
10. Chamomile Tea:
Make a soothing foot bath for your feet with some chamomile tea, Epsom salt, and warm water. Not only will this help to reduce the pain but will also soften the corn, so that you can slough it off with your pumice stone. However, be careful, as chamomile tea can stain your skin. The good news is that the stain can be removed with soap and water.
11. Green Figs:
If you can lay your hands on green, unripe figs, grab them. Extract the juice from these figs, about half a tablespoon. Apply it on the corn three times a day. This home remedy helps to cure the corn and also prevents it from recurring. You will be left with smooth, soft skin as a bonus!
12. Apple Cider Vinegar and Tea Tree Oil:
After soaking your feet in warm water or Epsom salt foot bath, apply apple cider vinegar on the corn. Keep the cotton ball firmly pressed against the corn for about 5 minutes. Let the vinegar dry and then apply tea tree oil on the corn. Do not rinse. 14. Ivy Leaves and Vinegar:
Soak some ivy leaves in vinegar. Leave it overnight. The following morning, remove the leaves and keep aside. Soak a slice of bread in the vinegar solution and apply it on the corn. Secure the bread with a bandage. Discard the bread slice in the evening and replace with a new slice of soaked bread. Keep this bread slice overnight with the help of a bandage. Sounds weird? But it does work!
Use rectified turpentine for this particular home remedy. Soak a clean cloth in turpentine and wrap it around your corn. Do this several times a day and the corn will dry and flake off.
You can use any type of vinegar for this home remedy. Soak a ball of cotton in vinegar and place it on the corn. Apply firm pressure on the cotton for about 5 minutes and then secure it for 24 hours. Next morning, when you remove the cotton, you should also see the corn coming off. If not, repeat the process.
We all know oatmeal works as an excellent exfoliating agent and can be soothing for the skin. So, using it to treat your corn should produce desirable results. Boil some oatmeal in plain water for about 5 minutes. Stain and apply the boiled oatmeal on the corn. Make sure it is not too hot or you may end up scalding your skin.
Garlic is used as a home remedy for a number of ailments, including corns. This is one of the effective home remedies to remove corns that can be best used at nights, as you will smell like an Italian eatery! Cut a clove of garlic into half. Rub one half on the corn for about a minute. Let your skin dry and then cover it with a crepe bandage. The following morning wash as normal. Do this every night and within a few days your corn will disappear.
19. Lemon Juice and Brewer’s Yeast:
Make a paste of Brewer’s yeast using lemon juice. Make sure the paste is thick. Slather it onto the corn and leave it overnight. It will help heal your skin and get rid of the corn.
Licorice is known to have healing properties and you can use them to heal corn too. Take four licorice sticks and make a paste using some mustard oil. Apply it on the corn just before retiring to bed. The following morning use warm water to wash off the paste. Do this every night for a few days and you will see a significant improvement.
21. Turmeric and Honey:
This is an Asian home remedy to heal corns. It can be quite effective. Make a thick paste of turmeric powder and honey. Apply it on the corn and let the paste air dry. You will notice the corn, reducing in size in about two to three days.
22. Cocoa Butter:
One of the home remedies to remove corns is by making them soft, so that you can sand them off with pumice stone. Apply cocoa butter on the affected part three times a day until your skin turns soft enough to be sloughed off.
23. Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is a wonderful skin moisturizer. Apply it three times a day on the affected area, ensuring that you massage it well into your skin. Once your skin turns supple and soft, it will be easy to remove the corn with a pumice stone.
24. Ice Compress:
If your corn is painful, wrap some ice in a towel and apply it to the affected part. It will help ease the pain and provide you temporary relief.
25. Dandelion Stem:
Extract juice from a dandelion stem and apply it on the corn. It will help remove the corn and hasten the healing process.
