You can take a fresh leaf of this herb and sprinkle it with some turmeric and Indian barberry. Bandage this leaf on the swelling after warming. Alternatively, you can slice an aloe vera leaf to extract its natural gel and rub it on the inflamed area. This will give relief from pain and swelling.

3. Myroblan:

This is another herb than can relieve the pain and swelling associated with mumps. You can prepare a thick paste by rubbing myroblan in water and apply it over the swelling for relief.

4. Asparagus and Fenugreek Seeds:

These seeds are an effective natural remedies for mumps. Asparagus and fenugreek seeds can be mixed together and ground to form a paste. This paste should be applied to the swollen portion for beneficial results.

5. Banyan Tree Leaves:

Banyan tree leaves can be used to lessen the swelling caused by mumps. These leaves can be smeared with some ghee and heated on a flame. Place them on the affected area and bandage them for a couple of hours before removing.

6. Peepal Tree Leaves:

These leaves can be used in similar manner as the banyan tree leaves to counter mumps. Like the latter they can be smeared with ghee, heated on a flame and then bandaged on the affected area to get relief from pain and discomfort associated with mumps.

7. Margosa Leaves:

Margosa leaves are also quite effective in combating inflammation. You can make a paste by combining margosa leaves and turmeric powder. This should be applied to the swollen area of cheeks and under the ears for relief.

8. Soda Bicarb:

Add a pinch of soda bicarb to a few drops of water and apply this on the swollen portion. Wash off after a few minutes. This should be done twice to thrice in a day to get relief from pain and swelling.

9. Tea:

You can soak a piece of clean cotton or muslin cloth in mullein tea and apply it to the swollen area. This will considerably reduce the swelling and inflammation.

10. Cold Therapy:

Cold therapy is extremely effective in reducing swelling caused by mumps. This is because rubbing an ice pack on the affected area will numb that area for a while, thus reducing the pain naturally.
