How To Make A Lipstick With Crayons:
Read on if you want to how to make lipstick with crayons:
Choose your favorite crayon color, one you would like translated into a lip color. Then, remove the crayon wrapper. The really easy and quick way to remove them is to cut the side of your crayon with a blade or knife. And you will have clean crayons free from any label.
Then, break the crayons with your fingers. As the formula is very light it will break off easily into pieces without any difficulty. Follow it by putting your crayons in a pot or a bowl. Place the pieces at the center of the pot.
Then, add about a teaspoon of coconut oil to the bowl. You can use unscented coconut oil if you find the thought of coconut oil on your lips unappealing. If you want the lipstick formula to be sheer, then I would recommend you to add a little more coconut oil. If you add less than a teaspoon of oil, the formula of the lipstick will turn out to be dry and flaky. So, it is best to keep a ratio of one crayon and one teaspoon of coconut oil.
Then place the bowl in a container with hot water. As I used a large spoon, I was holding the spoon over the hot water container to melt the crayon. Keep the flame low and warm it up slowly. Use a toothpick to stir the coconut oil and crayons while it is over the stove to help in easy melting of the product.
Once all the crayon turns into a watery gooey liquid, free of any lumps, transfer it immediately into a clean container to store it while the mixture is warm. The container or jar has to be cleansed and well sanitized to avoid any bacterial infections. To clean and sanitize it, use a detergent solution or spray some rubbing alcohol over the container.
Allow the mixture to settle down for a minute or two, and then put the container in deep freezer. It will take about 3 hours to completely freeze and turn into a thicker consistency resembling lipstick. Then, remove your lipsticks and have fun! These crayon lipsticks might have a mild scent of coconut oil, which usually disappears within a day or two. The coconut oil in this formula helps to easily melt the crayon as well as hydrate and moisturize your lips on application. The pigmentation of the crayon lipsticks is good and decent, though they do require at least 2 layers to give a completely opaque coverage. The texture of the product is soft and buttery, so it spreads evenly on the lips without any tugging or pulling.
You can now be your very own lipstick maker! Amazing, isn’t it? What you can do with a little bit of ingenuity? Try it and save money!
